PRINCE2® Foundation & Practitioner

PRINCE2® is a process-based approach for project management providing an easily tailored and scalable method for the management of all types of projects.

PRINCE2® is recognised as a world-class international product and is the de-facto standard method for project management throughout the world. The PRINCE2® method is in the public domain, offering non-proprietary, best practice guidance on project management.

Course and Learning Objectives:

Following the completion of the course delegates will be able to:

• Show they understand the relationships between processes, themes, principles and PRINCE2® products and can apply this understanding to a given project scenario.

• Demonstrate that they understand the reasons behind the processes and themes of PRINCE2®, and that they understand the principles underpinning these elements.

• Apply PRINCE2® to the running and managing of a project within an environment supporting PRINCE2®.

• Apply and tailor PRINCE2® to address the needs and problems of a specific project scenario and different project circumstances.

• State which management products are input to, or output from, the seven processes.

• State the main purpose, and key contents, of the major management products.

• State the relationships between processes, deliverables, roles and the management dimensions of a project.

• Pass the Practitioner exam.

• Understand the level of responsibility, authority and accountability held by those involved in the project.

• Articulate the steps needed to guide the project through controlled, well managed and visible sets of activities to achieve the desired results.

Provides a practical understanding of Information Security based on ISO 27002 with a Quality approach.

Prepares students to pass EXIN “Information Security based on ISK27K Foundation” examination, allowing entry to further EXIN and external certifications.

Exam is inclusive of course fee and comprises 40 multiple choice questions.

Course and Exam are English language. Extra exam time allowed if English not the candidate’s first language.

Instructors are active practitioners of ISO27000 and ITIL, draw on in-depth hands on experience, provide real-life examples and are passionate. In most cases, the Instructors were themselves trained by the original pioneers of ISO20000 and ITIL

Courses typically run over weekends. Especially attractive to contractors as this saves the loss of income during the training.

United Kingdom specific ... many courses run on weekends to allow consultants/contractors to retain weekday income.

Czech Republic specific .... course bookings and information available in English, Czech or Slovak languages.

Foundation Examination

The purpose of the foundation qualification is to confirm you have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the PRINCE2 method to be able to work effectively with, or as a member of, a project management team working within an environment supporting PRINCE2. The foundation qualification is also a pre-requisite for the practitioner qualification.

  • Multiple choice format

  • 75 questions per paper

  • 5 questions to be trial and not counted in scores

  • 35 marks required (out of 70 available) to pass - 50%

  • Closed book.

Practitioner Examination

The purpose of the practitioner qualification is to confirm you have achieved sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor PRINCE2 in a scenario situation.

  • Objective testing format

  • 9 questions per paper with 12 marks available per question - all question items will be worth 1 mark, making the total number of marks available per paper 108

  • 2.5 hours allowed (no reading time has been added)

  • Open book exam (manual only)

  • 59 marks required (out of 108 available) to pass - 55
